Come out and join the protest of Melissa Bean this Wednesday. Rep. Bean is again selectively ducking her constituents. This healthcare event is by paid fee only in front of the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce.

She did finally schedule a tele-townhall but that also was a failure. It appeared she again selectively chose who she called and who got to ask a question. Why is Melissa Bean continuing to not talk to all the citizens of the 8th district.

I received this Press Release today and wanted to tell everyone about this event:

Completely out of control Federal and State governments are driving ordinary citizens to do extraordinary things in order to get their voices heard.

Devastating to personal freedom, a free market economy, and constitutionally illegal, the Obama “health care” legislation has fired up the citizenry to speak out as they have never done so before. Truly a “Sleeping Giant” has awoken as “We the People” have watched this administration unleash TARP, TARP II, The “Stimulus Bill” and the take over of private industry with shock and disbelief.

Fed up with the Congressmen and Senators that support the “Health Care” legislation (without reading the bill) that will not hold town hall meetings, and the ones that did ensured they would be scripted, tightly controlled arrogantly received and biasedly reported. A handful of newly acquainted freedom loving women decided to act.

Refusing to be ignored or marginalized, these women “The Mom Squad,” have invited State Senator Dick Durbin and Congressmen Mark Kirk and Melissa Bean to attend their “With or Without You” Town Hall Meeting.

On Friday, August 28th at 7:00 PM at the Libertyville, IL Civic Center located at 135 W. Church St., Libertyville, IL., “We the People” will assemble. The building is reminiscent of a gathering place of Colonial America. There will be a professional panel consisting of a malpractice attorney, a small business owner, a doctor and an insurance specialist to answer the questions of the constituents should these politicians decline the formal invitation to participate. At the podiums will be placed cardboard cutouts of these politicians, they will be replaced with the “real thing” if they show.

Join us for a REAL TOWN HALL as ordinary citizens step up to become extraordinary in their passion and love for this country.

Watch as the real or the cutout politicians arrive and take their place in front of those that they are answerable to. The line in the sand has been drawn.

UPDATE: The call mentioned below was a personal call and was not from the Bean townhall.

Marathon Pundit reported this morning that Melissa Bean was holding a tele-townhall tonight starting between 8:20 and 8:30 pm Central time. He also discovered this call was only going to be open to people who had called before today. When I heard this I thought, cool, I have called plenty of times before, I should get a call. In fact I have called twice and emailed her asking for dates/times for her townhalls and have been told each time I would be contacted when details were set. I never was called.

At 7:40 pm I received a call from Melissa Bean. Guess what, it was saying I had missed the townhall because I didn’t answer the phone. I looked back at my caller ID, since the meeting was not even supposed to be happening for nearly an hour. Interestingly, I had a phone call identified as a cell phone caller from CA at 4:05 pm. It appears once again, Bean is ducking her constituents by holding the call 4 hours early.

Since Melissa Bean won’t speak to us, we can certainly go to her. For anyone interested, let’s protest at the Lake Zurich Chamber of Commerce pay only townhall. Spread the word.

Multi-Chamber Breakfast meeting hosted by the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce will feature guest speaker Congresswoman Melissa Bean, September 2, 2009, @ Concorde Banquets, Kildeer.

Congresswoman Bean will also be presented the US Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise Award given annually to members of Congress based on their support of key business issues.

Open only to representatives of Chamber member businesses in good standing in District 8. $25 cost includes a full breakfast. Advance reservation and payment required.

Melissa Bean is appearing at a townhall. Unfortunately it is not really open to the general public. She will be appearing the Lake Zurich Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Sept. 2. Only Chamber members are allowed and you have to pay $25. Hat tip: Michelle Malkin and Marathon Pundit.
