A huge thanks to all our sponsors and attendees. The ABC 7 report is below and unfortunately it is skewed as they did not report accurately. It would be nice if the media actually stuck to reporting the facts instead of slanting the reports to their preconceived biases.
First the crowd was over 500 and closer to 600. (The Daily Herald did put the attendance at around 500)
Second it was not all local politicians and the majority were not Republicans.
2 of the Gubernatorial Candidates Spoke, Bill Brady (R), Lex Green (L); 1 Lt Gov. Candidate – Ed Rutledge (L); 1 Comptroller – Julie Fox (L); 1 Sec. of State – Roberto Enriquez (R). So of the State wide offices, there were more Libertarians than Republicans.
Local office candidates Joe Walsh (R) led the Pledge of Allegiance, other speakers, Sheriff Mark Curran (R), Dan Sugrue (R), Keith Turner (I). All of the Dems refused or did not respond.
Non-candidates – Terry Weppler – Mayor of Libertyville, David Schippers – Constitutional Lawyer, Arie Friedman – Pediatrician, Stever Tucker – Healthcare expert, Joe Calomino – AFP, Maria Rodriquez – For the Good of Illinois, Rosanna Pulido – Illinois Minutemen, James Pittman – Assoc. Pastor, Rich Valkanet – Pastor, Michael Carbone – D46 school board member & Lake County Tea Party Board member, Bob Cook – Chairman Lake County Republicans, Bonnie Quirke – Lake County Right to Life, Paul Mitchell – Lake County Tea Party Board member, Peter Karlovics – Lake County Tea Party Board member, Ray True – RALC.
So in total, there were
13 non- affiliated speakers
7 Republican candidates/party leaders
3 Libertarian Candidates
1 Independent Candidate
